This Privacy Policy explains how J&H Labs (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you visit our website or use our apps and services. We have tried to keep it short and in plain language.
Who we are
J&H Labs is an independent software studio that builds SaaS products and mobile apps for Android and iOS. J&H Labs is responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
Scope
This policy applies to:
- this website (jhlabs.in); and
- J&H Labs apps and services that do not publish their own privacy policy.
Some of our apps may have their own app-specific privacy policy. Where an app publishes its own policy, that policy applies to the app and takes precedence over this one where they differ.
Information we collect
Information you give us. For example, when you email us, create an account in one of our apps, or contact support, we receive your name, email address and anything else you choose to include.
Information collected automatically. When you use our apps, we or our service providers may collect limited technical information, such as:
- device type, operating system version, app version and language settings;
- usage information, such as features used and app interactions;
- diagnostic data, such as crash logs and performance data; and
- approximate (not precise) location derived from your IP address.
Purchases. If you buy a subscription or in-app purchase, payment is handled by Apple (App Store), Google (Google Play) or another payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card details; we only receive confirmation of the purchase and related details needed to provide it.
This website. Our website does not use tracking cookies or advertising trackers. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and reliability.
How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, maintain and improve our apps and services;
- create and manage your account, if an app offers one;
- process purchases and subscriptions;
- respond to your questions and provide support;
- understand how our products are used and fix crashes and bugs;
- keep our services secure and prevent fraud or abuse; and
- comply with legal obligations.
We do not use your information for purposes that are incompatible with these without telling you first.
Third-party services
Our apps may use trusted third-party services to function. Depending on the app, these can include:
- Analytics and crash reporting, such as Google Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics;
- Sign-in and accounts, such as Sign in with Apple, Google Sign-In or Firebase Authentication;
- Payments, through Apple App Store and Google Play billing;
- Advertising, such as Google AdMob, only in apps that show ads; and
- Cloud hosting and storage for our SaaS products.
These providers process information on our behalf or under their own privacy policies, which we encourage you to review. Where an app uses advertising, you can limit ad personalisation in your device settings.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:
- with service providers who help us run our products, under appropriate safeguards;
- when required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and property of our users, the public or J&H Labs; and
- in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case we will make sure your information stays protected.
Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law. When you delete your account or ask us to delete your data, we delete or anonymise it within a reasonable time, unless we must keep it for legal reasons.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, such as encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work hard to protect your data.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you;
- correct inaccurate information;
- delete your information;
- withdraw consent where we rely on it; and
- object to or restrict certain processing.
To make a request, email us at support@jhlabs.in. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.
Children’s privacy
Our apps and services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under 16 in the European Economic Area. In India, where the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 treats anyone under 18 as a child, we do not knowingly process a child’s personal data without verifiable consent from a parent or lawful guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International transfers
We are based in India, and our service providers may process information in other countries. Where we transfer information internationally, we take steps to make sure it remains protected in line with this policy and applicable law.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page, and where changes are significant we will provide additional notice.
